Cruise Ship Claims

With the increase in popularity of cruises it is unfortunate that passengers may be involved in an accident on their ship and suffer personal injury. Complications may arise due to the fact that the cruise ship may be foreign registered or that the accident may occur while the ship is outside territorial waters or in a foreign port.

Anyone wishing to make a claim for personal injury should seek legal advice as quickly as possible since the limitation period, the time allowed for making a claim, is reduced from three years to two years. If proceedings are not issued within this time the court have no discretion to extend that period and the injured party may not be able to claim compensation.
